The story of J. Robert Oppenheimer, the father of the Atomic Bomb and director of the Manhattan Project and how he went from public hero to disgraced private citizen.
Synopsis:Lots' Wife is the story of Robert Oppenheimer. A genius who never fit in, a leader who changed the world, and an American whose ideas were at odds with the government.
HOw the bomb was created is only half the story. Heralded as a hero, he was ambivalent about the Americans having exclusive ownership to the formula for the atomic bomb. AS the American government became progressively more territorial about ownership, he becomes more and more convinced the bomb should be debated in a public forum.
The government believes he might be a communist because of his support for liberal causes while at Berkeley. An old adversary comes after Oppie and he is put on trial and stripped of his high clearance and respectful standing. He is at Princeton where he is technically Einstein's boss.
A look into the life of someone whose lifework is under suspicion... but the audience knows that he is a true AMerican hero.
