Synopsis:Life on an offshore oil rig can be hell on roughnecks, but Jerek Page never thought he’d see his friend get torn in half right in front of his eyes. The drilling rig hit something underwater. The platform exploded. And in an instant, it seemed it was over.
It wasn’t. They had awoken something below.
Thousands of creatures scatter to hide from the intruder from above. Hundreds of them attack the drill bit and attach themselves to it.
In their haste to retrieve the bit, the roughnecks bring the little monsters to the surface. But these things hide well -- secreting shells, blending into the mangled metal. They can hide on a wall in front of you and you don’t even know they are there.
Until they attack.
And now Jerek, accompanied by oil company scientist Alan Craft, transports the drill to shore unaware he is about to unleash them upon mankind.
It is here, in the quiet rural Louisiana countryside that the things escape into the swamps. Getting meaner. Growing ever bigger.
Now they’re headed for one town that has something they want. A town surrounded by dozens of small drilling platforms. Jerek’s hometown.
And as the entire town is overtaken by the monsters, there’s only one question left --
