I have to agree with everything The Big D said - excellent effort. Miles better than anything else i've watched here.

My only concerns would be the sound quality at times and the fact the third act is a bit of a mess - the two subplots with Skater Girl and the cousin should be resolved before Neato wins the contest - and he should be active in them, too.

I was so impressed i had to Google the film, as i kinda knew this wasn't made for the contest - and i was right. But at least you are exploring more options to get this movie to the audiences it deserves.

I'm confused about the writer and director - as the listings here are different than IMDB. One thing is for sure, Mister Belchere is one talented, talented man.

The conversation about the chinese and yoghut had me in stitches.

Not only should this win the monthly award - it should win the annual award... the only thing that will prevent this from happening is AS's desire to go the big budget route.

A common problem I've had with the great majority of "test films" on Amazon Studios is that I almost instantly want to press the "stop" button. It has nothing to do with the quality of the test film (production wise), it's simply that a great majority of the test films and scripts simply don't have a heart, or a soul.

Neato Mosquito is a little rough around the edges, but it 1000x better than most of the previous WINNNERS in the contest.

Getting people to actually watch ALL of a test movie is a very daunting prospect, and I have to say that Neato was the first test film that I watched from start to finish without skipping around.

Very good story and characters. The actors were perfect in playing their parts.

This was a good overall comedy that actually pulled me in, caring about the main character Neato and his side kick along with the secondary characters such as his adopted sister, the redneck store manager etc...

I thoroughly enjoyed this movie and would probably make a few changes but overall this cut was great and as is a major cut above most main stream movies.

From its colorful and playful opening titles, to the catchy theme music, and into our hanging out with the solidly engaging characters, this rough cut has more polish than many a final offering.

Neato and Willie are two of the most unlikely main characters - even heroes - to grace many a movie, indy or not. If they don't grow on you, you can't like sausage egg cheese biscuit sandwiches.

The central plot revolves around a bloated convenience store flunky (Brian Oxendine) desperately seeking fame, fortune and a trip to Jamaica by exploiting Neato's prodigy prowess with still cool tool - a Rubik's Cube. Sub plots involve a ditzy duo of Neato's cousin, sleazy stripper Leroy Smooth - played by a skillful Kid Rock wannabe - who's mentoring a long locked, hairy bearish dude who dreams of being a similar male stripper gigolo – or something – all to hilarious effect. Check out 'The Tuscan Wranglers' most seductive, rib tickling performance in end credits roll - as he masterfully rolls his ample belly rolls for all the world to see.

As Neato might say, 'You gotta risk it to get the sausage biscuit.', the movie doesn't play it safe, which ups the fun factor. The film makers behind this sweet gem never cater to a common denominator, nor shred the narrative cadence of a longish scene because a slower pace wouldn't fit into a Hollywood mold.

I'd love a more polished version, but again, this cut entertains. It had me rooting and hooting at the end. Most importantly, I really liked these characters and would love to see them together again. Maybe Neato and Willie go on a road trip to a Rubik's Cube National Challenge? The Tuscan Wrangler and Leroy Smooth tag along - making money and love to lonely gals, as they stir up mischief along the way.

I loved this movie! It reminded a bit of Napoleon Dynamite. The production values were good to high and although I think some of the subplots took too much time away from the real heart of the story (Neato and Willie) they were still entertaining. What made the movie were the lead actors who brought Neato and Willie to life. The script respected and liked these characters instead of mocking them. Very refreshing! Great job to everyone involved.

Here comes the bad news (and it's something that may effect my 2nd test movie I'm working on). After rereading what Amazon is looking for in a test movie I don't think this movie will win. Amazon is looking for a test movie, which this is not. Neato Mosquito is a finished independent movie, there's no "test" about it. In fact I don't see how this movie can be remade at all. It would not be the same without the actors that brought Neato and Willie to life, and its low budget style is definately part of its charm. This movie is something that should be playing in a festival on a big screen. Instead of uploading it on here you should have contacted a producer's rep who would have been able to help select the right festivals for your film. It has cult classic written all over it.

Hopefully in the next year Amazon will split the test movie contest into catagories where finished films can compete against each other and test movies can compete in a seperate catagory. It would make more sense. It is impossible to compare something like Neato Mosquito to a hand drawn animatic, they are completely different things.

If you should win I will applaud. It's a great little film and one I will reccomend to my friends.

It had a leisurely, fairly steady pace throughout the first 2/3. Upon watching it a second time it struck me that Neato's winning the competition ought to bring about the resolutions to end the picture. After he won I felt the movie should wrap up, but it continued with other subplot resolutions. That nagged at me a little, though it took two viewings to figure it out. One last thing that comes to mind is that the actors playing the police officers seemed hesitant in their performances. I felt a few times they may've improvising and it came across. They were funny. They just seemed unsure to me.

Overall it was a thoroughly enjoyable and generally engaging film. Even with the few technical quibbles I found it's still loads better than much of what else I've seen here and elsewhere. 4 stars.

This is really an engaging movie. From the start the viewer is drawn into the story by the characters interesting physical presence. The music is very engaging as well.

However, like others I think the substories should be wrapped up before Neatos main story. Also
in the beginning the additional characters should be introduced in a different way-the way the action stops suddenly and starts with a totally different character is jarring to the story.

Over all a really engaging story with unforgettable characters. Good job-keep it up.

It translated well on this side of the Atlantic, all too many films from America dont and fall flat on their faces unless they load the film up with S/FX. I enjoyed it, it was well worth watching the characters were very good, I think this will do well wherever it's released, 11 out of 10 I loved the part where wrangler used the "magic Tree" as a deoderant lol very funny and original

This movie was so weird it was good. Really enjoyed the laidback character of Neato, and Willie hitching a ride home for the spare tire was one hell of a unique introduction to his character. I would say most of the movie fell into humorous situations like Kate being so bad at roller skating, yet wanting to try out for roller derby. Dumb & dumber cops who have moments of actually knowing what they are doing, how the law works -- Actually, it seemed most characters were inept morons with moments of normalcy, downright wittiness, which made it hard to know where the comedy was going. Am wondering if prejudice was rearing its ugly head in the bits, creating tension with the humor, you know, overweight, cripple, gay bashing, etc. Movie took on a lot of story in story and your ending tied them all up in the ending minutes, not leaving us hanging -- I enjoyed that, but must say, as is, most punch lines seemed lacking and the comedy situations forced, and I cannot really say why I liked the movie, but I did.
