I was a big Agatha Christie fan as a kid and this brings back memories. As I grew older, I realized that she cheated a lot and I grew tired of the genre. It's hard to make one of these murder mysteries hold together and you do a reasonably good job of it while making it reasonably funny. However Edith's reasoning for letting the Chauffeur go and not the maid makes no sense, but I suppose could be justified by the revelation at the end.

There's no 3-act structure to this in that the protagonists don't really have internal conflicts to contend with that they overcome and no great setbacks either. They don't really grow as far as I can tell. But it's a shallow romp, so who cares? They're certainly likeable-enough.

I would try to make this funnier. It's a riff on a genre and there has to be more opportunity for tongue and cheek. I can think of 3 times where I laughed out loud and certainly I smiled a lot, but I would say that it's more amusing than funny. I'd try to make it the other way around "The butler definitely didn't do it" is priceless.

Something that I've been told to avoid as a screenwriter is directing from the page. You do that a lot, especially at the beginning. I think you've got good ideas, but unless you're pushing to direct this film, I would tone it down. It might come across as distracting and off-putting.

I really enjoyed this script. The character were fantastic and the dialogue brought it all to life. Being a huge Agatha Christie fan I loved the little references to her - in fact this made it for me. While reading I was imagining a theatre play rather than a film or tv adaptation. I think this would be huge fun to go and watch in a theatre.

A fun, Golden Age of Mystery style who-done-it with oodles of nods to the Grand Dame of Mystery herself.

Dialogue did grab my attention and lots of laughs and fun - quick pace and likeable characters.
Has quite the atmosphere of a 1930's play. I was very surprised w/the discovery of who did it - and the clues were there all along. For a Christie fan there are lots of familiar lines and one can laugh along w/the characters and their actions keep our interest throughout the play/scenes. Story flows well and we enjoy meeting - the postmistress, the chauffer, the maid, Jimmy and Penny and Aunt Edith and Suavely her literary competitor.

This was fun script to read. Scott Wallace Baker's scene setting is immaculate and achieves his desire of making it possible to 'escape to another time and place.' I can just picture the sets and the costumes; an art deco extravaganza!

This was perfect in every way. When I read it the first time, I didn't have any questions or queries, and upon reading it a second time, still no questions or queries. It is a fun, clear, clean, well-written mystery and a breath of fresh air to read!
