What a hoot! This is a gem of a laugh-out-loud script that Philip & Julius Epstein, Dorothy Parker, Preston Sturges, and Billy Wilder would have loved. Actresses of a certain age should beg to play Shirley, Pauline, and Muriel, the ultimate heroines in the ultimate slapstick chick flick screenplay. This should be made into a film directed by a woman and produced by women. For some odd reason, some men just don’t get chick flicks, or appreciate them. But, thank God, more than half of the world’s population would be laughing so hard while watching this film that tears would be rolling down their cheeks. Very, very funny!

Irreverent, profane, outrageous, hilarious, disrespectful, silly, mordant, witty, creative, cynical, satirical, whimsical, intelligent, cheeky, acerbic, and insightful are a few of the words I would use to describe Ordinary Women. Terrific story, characters, dialogue, and writing!

HIgh concept meets chick flick. I would see this in a heart beat and this would probably generate many happy daydreams. Wonderful to see that a woman's life after 50 is anything but boring or over.

This project does not lend itself to the principles of basic screenwriting format. It reads just like a manuscript. It would appear as though the other reviewers here have no real knowledge or concept of what scripts should look or read like; hence the high ratings.

I'm sure the story is witty, but because it fails to meet basic screenwriting format, it distracts from the overall story. Example is that scene headings are not underlined.

There is a lot of telling in this script and now showing. Any script over 120 pages is too long. The script also has poor use of white space.

Cut cut cut and cut some more. A much needed revision is needed.

This is how movies were written in those glorious days (1930s and 1940s) of Hollywood. The characters are as feisty as those in His Girl Friday, The Women, It Happened One Night, and all of Mae West's movies. I really loved this script!
