Let me tell you right now, if all of these Soldiers are going to be Special Forces/Black Ops on a mission this remote, probably none of them will be wearing a standard uniform. They will all have ball caps on (no helmets) they will be wearing plate carriers instead of standard issue body armor, and just as likely that none of them would have on the Army Combat Uniform - though you could expect that some might or even that they could have on a mix of the standard uniform with older Desert Combat Uniform - but with a job this remote, there is a good chance they would wear whatever they want. In the current Army the closer Special Forces operations are to conventional forces, the more "in line" their uniforms tend to be. The more remote they get, the crazier they look!
I would make sure you get a military consultant, but don't go for some Hollywood-type. Just ask an Army Special Forces Soldier with some Afghanistan experience or an Army soldier that worked with them a lot. They are easy to find. Getting the "look" right is super important for military stuff in movies, and is overlooked far too often. This movie is on the right track from what I see hear, but could use that final touch of realism. The tactical movements from the drawings look pretty good, too!
"Leave no man behind" - The actual Army line from the Warrior Ethos is "Never leave a fallen comrade."
The character Moose as a true professional is not going to go off chasing this kid without any communications. I mean, MAYBE if he thought he had coms or verbally told the others what he was about to do to their faces or even shouted it and ran off, would be a little more plausible.
You might develop his character more to explain WHY he would do something like this - already has a reputation for risk taking, running off on his own, etc. or make it clear that he is being affected mentally somehow to do things he would not normally do. As it is, a Special Operations soldier just running off, full knowing nobody knows what he is doing or where he is going in a bizarre and freaky environment is not particularly believable - well, not believable at all. Make it believable.
