Someone wrote this is up there with the Avengers and The Dark Knight Rises.

I'm taking film classes and we study speculation scripts and shooting scripts. I checked out about forty at Amazon Studios. I had to go and read this twice.

YES! YES! YES!

I am in my second year at NYU and learning how to write screenplays. I read a few on the Amazon Studios website and found this Captain Nemo screenplay to be amazing.
From the beginning the story starts with a major submarine battle and continues to take you deeper into Captain Nemo's underwater wonderland. Captain Nemo and his crew are likeable, great characters. The dialogue is clever, intelligent and witty.
But what actor could play Captain Nemo? Sean Connery? Liam Neeson? Clive Owen?
It would have to be someone wise and worldly. In this screenplay, Captain Nemo is a father, so the actor would have to be like a father.

I love science fiction and super hero movies. I also love the ocean and this Captain Nemo script is amazing. I saw The Avengers and The Dark Knight Rises. I can honestly see Captain Nemo somewhere with these moves. I also appreciate the way this writer has intelligent female characters - I find that very respectful. Uriah is a true evil power to be dealt with in this story and I really love the relationship Captain Nemo has with his crew and the creatures of the ocean. It is also great how these submarines work.
I hope there will be a sequel.

This would make a fantastic movie! Lots of believeable characters and great images.

Captain Nemo is a hit! My friends and I started reading some of these screenplays at Amazon Studios because we are writing a childrens story to submit. We wanted to see how other people made their scripts. We checked out Captain Nemo. Wow! This is a great story. The three of us read this. We really like the way these characters live their lives and connect with the giant whales and Hermes. My friend Dale is going into the Navy and he said this script was great because the submarines Captain Nemo have are basically true. Their speed, the way they function. I also like the women in this story. The writer makes them smart and you can relate to them.
We think Uriah and Kronos are great bad guys. We love the humor in this story like Captain Nemo golfing off the top of the Nautilus and when Elon shoots the Spike and it goes the wrong way. This would make a HUGE movie!

I checked out lots of the scripts at Amazon Studios and this one was amazing. Someone suggested the movie "Dune". I watched that and I agree, I liked the tone and the darkness.
This Captain Nemo is about to take off. Someone also wrote it could be like the Avengers or Dark Knights Rises.
I can see that. Captain Nemo and his crew are in this totally different world and frame of mind.
They are like the good bad guys. Great descriptions under the sea. I really like the sea monsters.

I started film classes and my instructor told us to check Amazon Studios and read some scripts. A friend of mine told me about this Captain Nemo script, because I love Jules Verne, Orwell, H G Wells, all great classic science fiction.
I was really impressed with this story. The writer starts off with action and takes you quickly into Captain Nemo's secret underwater world.
As the story unfolded, one thing happened after another.
The writer has the inner conflict going on between Captain Nemo, his sons and daughter - and his wife on Marco Island. Great storytelling.
This is going to be a hot movie.

Premise = A good vs evil story with some great twists. When the world has a new threat by the name of Uriah, the creatures of the ocean seem to cry out for Captain Nemo's help.
The Captain Nemo character is easy to identify with. From the beginning to the end you can see how the events unfolding affect the captain.

Story structure = This story moves fast and it doesn't stop. It was a great page turner. Once you start reading, each scene makes you want to read on into the next.

Character = All the characters had something unique about them. Ari, Alexander, Sonja, Sherry Lynn, Jackie, Joseph, Uriah, Kronos, Elon, etc . This is the sign of a good writer.

Dialogue = The writer allowed each word to play off of the characters emotions. Donald was great, like a big kid and a dreamer. It is great how he became the accidental visitor to the Nautilus and stays on.

Emotion = I was laughing and crying as I read some of the scenes. I was also holding on during the action. This story really took me away.

I read this novel years ago and I am extremely impressed with this writers style. Although the screenplay "Captain Nemo" has cut out several chapters from the novel, this screenplay is near perfect.
If anyone gets a chance, watch the movie "Dune" and read "Captain Nemo". There are some similar, universal concepts - but - the way the writer makes you love Captain Nemo, his crew and what this captain does is a priceless treat. Hope to see this film soon.

One of the strongest points of this screenplay is Captain Nemo has all this knowledge of math, science, the ocean and he has found a way to travel, secretly to other parts of the world and meet up with people of many nations (this will be a huge hit overseas).
He does not judge anyone, all he cares about is that you respect his oceans, his crew and his privacy. He also seems to welcome other people's suggestions and ideas.

Golfing off the top of the Super-Submarine The Nautilus, visting undersea caves filled with blue whales and diamonds, giant sea creatures like Hermes and Brutus. Every page kept adding to a new adventure.

Captain Nemo is a super hero who uses his brains not his fists. That's what makes this a great story for kids too. That being smart is cool.

5 Stars = Premise. What made this story great was that it was very believable. The writer went through a lot to descibe the submarines, places under the oceans, different cultures, everything.

5 stars = Structure. It looks like lots of research went into understanding the navy. Also the way the characters played off of each other.

5 stars = Character. Captain Nemo was a well written character. He goes through these changes as the story goes on. Even the other characters like Donald, Sonja, Ari, Uriah, Kronos. They were all created with their own personalities.

5 stars = Dialogue. It was smart. At time, funny and ironic. Especially how laid back Captain Nemo and his crew seemed. Jackie and Dr. Yang are great.

5 stars = Emotion. Most of the scenes were very exciting. At times during the chase scenes or battles, you were holding on. When Brutus attacked the Nautilus, that was cool. And then to have the giant eel. Wow! Guess you gotta watch it when your in the ocean.
Captain Nemo also brought out lots of feelings for his sons and daughter. Especially when he found his dead son on the atoll and when Jackie was killed.
