I truly believe this children's screenplay was written by a child who has yet to grow up and learn how to write and edit (Homophones). I had to work hard to imagine the scenes.

cute, but needs more work
More development of the characters needed
Less musical breaks
Dialog and Song Lyrics need some rework
- will tick off parents everywhere with the farm mom telling the farm boy that his dad can't stop him if he doesn't know... BAD message for a kids movie, take it out - rethink and reword the message there
- first scene with the gardner and the fairy is just irritating
Story worth pursuing - so rework until you get it right. As it is now, the kids would watch [once] while they ate breakfast...not a box office hit.

Highly enjoyable, but not *quite* there yet
By and large, this is a wonderful piece of work: both as a script and as a test movie. But once I got past the charm of the visuals (and they *are* charming), I found it wasnt grabbing me quite as much as I had hoped. Some of the scenes — like January berating her father — felt forced to find a centre, and to be honest, the boy's two companions dont sit well after a second viewing. It's almost like there's two films here: an edgy, sparkling retelling of the fairy tale coupled with something that seems to want desperately to be a retelling in the "Rocky and Bullwinkle" tradition, with broad humour that, at times, is just a wee *too* broad.
A few of the songs start to sound the same after a while, especially the ballads, but you make up for it with some very kick-butt, large-scale production numbers. And I could see where this would be an art director's dream: lots of great opportunities for expansive, emotionally-driven design.

It works well.
In this genre, this would certainly work on several fronts, although in my opinion it would work much better in animation than in live action (fairies nearly always do).
Even with or without the heavy musical influence it would still work.
If I were to suggest anything at all maybe it would be to polish up the formatting.
But hey it's a thumbs up.

Love the story and the music
The music is amazing. The scene at about 28 minutes has me belly laughing.
