Complete rewrite follows AS notes. Kept names, redid all else for perfect blockbuster fare: plenty of gore and action supplement a surprisingly solid plot. B-movie concept meets A-list action! Titus is a slave with a dark secret. Mystical zombie origin introduced in a shocking prologue. Primary villain(s) are ambitious Roman leaders seeking to exploit the chaos & the zombie horde. This one rocks!

[SPOILER ALERT! The synopsis below contains spoilers.]

A Roman slaver mission unwittingly brings a primal curse down upon all of Rome. Suddenly, the dead will not die. They rise and transform the living into creatures like them.

When the zombie horde breaks loose in the city, the slaves of Rome escape captivity, but soon encounter a new danger. Roman authorities have quarantined the afflicted district, killing anyone who tries to leave, deathless or human. As the chaos threatens to expand, the Romans realize the entire district must be purged to contain the curse.

Thrust into this chaos, our heroes emerge. Titus, a somber gladiator with a dark secret. Octavius, his friend, a laughing giant, who grows more distrustful of Titus the more he learns. Khalim, the Persian scholar and Akini the expert archer from Africa. They search the burning, bleeding city for Titus’ love, Lavinia, unsure if she is even still alive.

Along the way they must escape the plots of Cassius, the slave-trader, Aquinas, the slaver captain, Flavius, the Roman senator and Quintas the Roman general.

All while battling the zombie horde!

Can our heroes hope to escape? Or will the Romans kill them? Or will the zombie horde? Or will Titus’ dark secret turn them against each other first?
