This story has an excellent backdrop, set in 18 century France, and conjures up a feel similar to the film Brotherhood of the Wolf. You have strong characters, especially Father Thomas. I agree with you that he should be proactive. In further drafts I hope you expand on his love for his brother, regardless of his insane brother's actions, and on the relationship he builds with Jacob, a pairing not too dissimilar to that in the film The Name of the Rose.
The only reservation I have is this. Even though I enjoyed Bro'hood of the Wolf I would have preferred a more human monster rather than werewolves (not to mention kung fu fighting). Same with the gargoyles. Sure, it's great to watch the superstitious villagers paralyzed with fear over devilish crimes but if this is a mystery and suspense thriller leaving your audience guessing is important.
Unveiling, in the end, a human monster is, I feel, a much more scarier scenario if you want your audience to believe. If you want an audience to accept the supernatural then your relying on gore and violence to entertain.
With formatting, as far as I'm aware numbering each scene is usually used for shooting scripts.
All in all an enjoyable read with great characters and dialogue.
Good luck with this.
P.S I do like the title, Bloodstone, which is always a plus.

A gritty and tightly paced story.
I agree with the previous review, I too could easily envision each scene.
I'm bias towards scifi so when I read a script in that genre I do get a little picky. I enjoyed Evolver even though it's based on a premise that's been tried and tested successfully and unsuccessfully countless of times.
I like this because the monster here has potential. In these sorts of films it's all about the monster. The Evolver is horrifyingly described, a fusion of flesh and circuitry.
But your monster needs more. It needs 'fleshing out' if it's truly to stand out from your run of the mill creature features. I think the evolver has room to grow.
Best way I think to do this is to explain the technology behind the creature.
In "the Andromeda Strain." the writers went to great lengths to explain a crystal based lifeform.
In "the Thing" there was a scene of an alien cell attacking human ones. The closest and most topical technology relating to your monster today would be nanotechnology. This way you give the audience something to hang on to, believe in, even though its based on speculative science. It could also give your monster a fresh and unique way to kill its victims and even an achilles heal, ( a way to kill it).
Your characters are good, with awesome names, and having the crims battling the evolver while holed up in a police siege worked great. Shades getting killed by his own creation was a cool moment but I think his relationship with the Evolver should be further explored.
Other than that this script is a genre directors dream. As well for an art design team.

I hope to see another draft.

Good Luck.

I'm an instant fan of the concept.

Deconstruction crews.
Rangers.
Superlions.
Endless sky syndrome.

It has the positive feel of Avatar, Jurasic Park and Tarzan.
I can't really say much about the writing because the action sequences, hunting the poachers, rabbit camp assault and fire fight, and superlion attack, were, even though a little far apart and too few, excellent.
The only problems I found were that it felt more like reading a TV scifi script rather than a feature film. You use too much dialogue to explain thing, pages 43 - 47 between kael and boone bogs the story down.
There is no real sense of danger for boone and I found the villian here no real threat. It was also hard to believe a society like that would be disciplined enough not to pillage the earth.
If there were some extremist fundumentalist religious overtone it could make more sense.
I feel Houng's genetics could be developed further and that the script could use less ethical debate and more character development and CONFLICT. Boone's arc has a way to go and needs to be explored. Personally, I'd start him off as a villian , and then convert him. But that's me.
I like Native State very much.

Good Luck with it.

I got drawn to the script because of the concept, a cross between inception with hannibal lecture.
This is good but a good concept needs to be told better, especially from the opening scene.

You open up with way too much dialogue, and to make it worst reading Michael|Michelle made my eyes hurt. Is was difficult to read. Start with a bit of action first, set the tone.

Keep your dialogue brief. try having your characters say the same thing with less words.

As with Michael's serial killer incarnation. Give him better lines, "Die whore."???

The interaction with the priest and execution is OK but don't fall back on religious overtone as the SK's motivation. Do some research on real serial killers. They are all mad and brain f***ed, so try make your killer unique somehow.

The action scenes were again OK but then Michelle gets bogged in massive chunky dialogue.

The hooker scene feels contrived. Try walking up to a real hooker with those lines, They won't be scared of some serial killer on the ramgage, they'll be scared of you.
"Die Whore, die." HHHmmm. No. unless you make this a comedy. That would be cool.

Again, Michael|Michelle get caught up in a dialogue fest.

Try using the minimalist approach to this story.
You have a very strong concept so you need to back it up with good writing.

Best wishes and good luck.
