More About Me
My name is James Tuverson and I’m a WGA screenwriter, producer and director. Before pursuing screenwriting, I was in entertainment marketing for over 10 years, mainly in video games and comic books. I went through UCLA’s Professional Program in Screenwriting and then studied at Writer’s Boot Camp in Santa Monica. I’ve won numerous screenwriting awards, including “Best Screenplay” at the California Independent Film Festival and “First Place” at the Colorado Film Festival.
I’ve had four of my short screenplays produced, including one I directed myself, a comedy-horror short called “Zombies Take The Schoolyard.” All four shorts have screened across the country at film festivals; one of them, “Hours Before”, won the Audience Choice Award at HollyShorts last year. This short was directed by actor Joel David Moore, who co-starred in “Avatar”. I currently have two other shorts I’ve written in production. I’ve also produced a thriller web-series called “The Apocalypse Diary” which was released online, and a comedy web-series called “The Nanny Interviews” which will be released later this year. Details on these projects can be found on my IMDB page.
I also maintain a blog at
http://jtuverson.com that documents my filmmaking endeavors. I’m very interested in meeting others who want to achieve entertainment-related goals and make a living in this industry.
