About

THE BLACK LIST's Professional Reader rated my new Romantic Comedy, WALTER CRISP'S ALMOST PERFECT MOMENT, an "8." The average Black List rating is 6.5.

Wedding photographer, Walter Crisp refuses to let himself fall in love. Truth is, he's terrified of love. When Walter is dumped by a girl he might actually be falling for his love-troubles are made comically worse by a charmed tattoo which allows him to relive past moments in his photographs so he can discover best friend, Maggie, has been his true love all along.

I specialize in writing Coming-of-Age Comedies about awkward guys who find themselves in larger than life situations where achieving their goal requires them to finally grow up, and take charge of their own fates.

After winning a Regional Emmy for Production Design for Twin Cities Public Television, I jumped at the chance to be the Lead Graphic Designer for the Coen Brothers', FARGO, then THE BIG LEBOWSKI. Also did, MIGHTY DUCKS, SUGAR & SPICE, DROP DEAD GORGEOUS, and several more terrific projects including Tim Burton's unfinished, SUPERMAN LIVES.

Transitioned into screenwriting and became a two-time Austin Film Festival, Second-Rounder, (2006 & 2008). Plus, I'm a two-time Top-Ten Finalist in Screamfest LA Horror Screenwriting Competition. (2004 & 2005).

I wrote the script I was born to write, a spec prequel for a teenage, James Bond, set in 1941

MI-6 RECRUIT: JAMES BOND - FIRST KILL - Delves into the blown mission and intrigue which introduces MI-6 Recruit: James Bond, the young man who would become the original operative code named: 007.

MI-6 RECRUIT: JAMES BOND - FIRST KILL - Trapped in the Soviet Union. His father murdered by a double-agent. His mother presumed dead. Teenage James Bond is hunted by Nazis and the KGB across war-torn Europe with only seventy-two hours to complete his parents’ final mission by escaping to Switzerland with the secret formula for synthesized petroleum.

I recently completed the Action Comedy - SEMI-DANGEROUS MEN - Two disaster-prone dreamers, who want nothing more than to attract hot chicks, stumble into explosive spy-jinks when they join a men-of-action training camp run by the CIA.

EVEL LIKE KNIEVEL - Coming-Of-Age Action - Summer of '74. Twin Falls teen, Kyle, takes a walk on the wild side after Evel Knievel awards him a security job behind the scenes of his Snake River Canyon Jump. When the event expands beyond Woodstock proportions, and a riotous gang of bikers threatens to destroy Evel’s Skycycle, it falls on Kyle to risk everything to stop them.

ECHELON 6: THE NEPHILIM RISES- Family Supernatural Action - Dane, a hard-to-love paramedic, is haunted by two precocious ghost-kids. When he accidentally leads them into the hands of a demon, Dane sets out to rescue the kids and discovers his own origin, he's a Nephilim, (half-angel), and the only one who can save them.

In 2005 I successfully completed my first paid feature writing assignment - MANIPULATION - A Psychiatrist's estranged father, a bitter rival, reemerges with accusations his son is manipulating his patients toward their self-destruction. Their conflict unveils an ages old dispute of supernatural origin which threatens the existence of mankind.

I play to win but want everyone to do well. Creative collaboration and problem solving fulfills my soul. People who take creative criticism as a blow to their self-worth make me sad.

Grew up with five older sisters just outside of Philly. Been on my own since I was 18. Juggling three part-time jobs, I put myself through the Minneapolis College of Art and Design, (same school as Terry Gilliam). Graduated with a BFA in Graphic Design and Filmmaking. To earn tuition for USC, I went to work as a feature film Graphic Designer.

A remarkable accomplishment! Well done! I suspect if the script was better, the storyboard animation, and actors wouldn't have had to work so hard to sell the idea. Impressive though!

BOTTOM FEEDERS, is a heartbreaking, touching, and authentic tale of what it's like to grow up with nothing but the desire to be as good a person as the one who reached out to help you.

A terrific script. A fast read.

Robert Riskin. Joel & Ethan Coen - Most fun I've ever had on a movie set. They know exactly what they want to capture, yet are open to surprises, especially humorous ones. Watching them build a movie is an amazing experience.
