In 1987, a circus clown stumbles upon a weathered how-to book on filmmaking. Unaware of how this seemingly insignificant item would influence his life, he picks it up and hangs onto it for the next ten years. Eighteen shorts, five features and numerous film festivals later, writer, director and editor Banks Helfrich embraces filmmaking as a means of expressing his unconventional outlook on life.
