More About Me
I am a Writer. I've written my whole life. It's funny though, I didn't know I really wanted to be a writer until I realized my dream of being an Actor was going to be so hard. That's when I got the genius idea of just writing a script and then I will cast myself in it...because, of course, that's how it works. Eesh. I was so naive.
I've written 4 feature length scripts and several shorts. I've had some interest on several projects but it just never happened. I got hired to write adapt a script from a previous script based on a true story but I just couldn't get in bed with the topic and there was no passion for me, so I dropped out.
My current pet project is a Comic Book Action Film that I am working on with George Pérez (Currently the Lead Artist for Superman). I have written the script for this project and I am currently working on getting a teaser trailer made to try and raise funds to get the film made.
My dream would be to be a Writer/Producer. I hear the hyphenates make all the cash! Actually, I would just love to see a project through all phases of development...concept to creation is something that gets me all jacked up.
When I'm not writing, I have a day job...something's gotta pay the bills...and believe me, I have plenty. I am happily married for over 18 years to a woman that is so far out of my league it's almost shocking. I have two amazing sons that are 17 and 16 and are absolutely superlative in just about every way.
I am extremely active in my local community theatre, I act in several productions a year, I just finished Assistant Directing "Willy Wonka" and I am Preproduction on "Damn Yankees" where I will be serving as Producer/Co-Director.
I've got about 100 stories in my head...if I can sell one, if I can make one...if I can get you to believe in me...I think, no, I know...I can make magic.
This was very Apatowesque, I could even see Ken Jeong playing Phuc Me. Very well put together, it was visceral and believable...funny dialogue, good plot twists.
You had some typos in there (the first gas station scene said James pumps gas, but James hasn't been picked up yet). Little things that you probably just missed because you've read it too many times.
People that get overly caught up in those items are douches and are not really helping. Now, that's not to say that you shouldn't do a thorough spell/grammar/format check...but it's not the end of the world if you miss a couple.
Again, overall...I really enjoyed it and I could picture it. I might take a shot at doing some Dialogue for it...
Best of luck!
Sonny
