About
I've always loved movies and I always will. From my childhood on, I've researched, studied, and enjoyed every facet of film. I've also always loved writing. Ironically, it actually took quite awhile before I realized that both of those loves could be satisfied as I began playing around with the idea of writing my first screenplay. I have a few under my sleeve now, and I thought Amazon Studios just might be worth a try. Here goes nothing!
Writing aside, I'm a very family oriented man. I love spending time with my wife and being with our family. Vacations are awesome, but when you're a poor college student like me, they are few and far between. I'm currently studying to become a high school English teacher, although my dreams still are set on someday becoming a professional screenwriter.
I guess people would say I'm a funny person. I love making people laugh. I think laughter is a great social experience and that, when used properly, can really make a difference. We're surrounded by so many bad things that it's nice to be distracted every now and then by comedy.
I'm kind of a weird person, but somehow my wife has forgiven my flaws and continues to stand by my side day after day. Most of my progress in screenwriting actually comes from a gratefully received stamp of approval from my wife, as well as the blessing of my wonderful family. If I didn't have those two things, I probably would have treated screenwriting as a casual hobby. But alas it is, at least for me, so much more!
The characters are top notch, albeit somewhat cliche. Greg is an amazing sidekick and I can see him becoming a big centerpiece for the film as a whole. His lines are so absurd that it just makes you love him all the more.
Joe is a good main character, but honestly, I wish I knew more about him. Maybe talk a little bit more about his youth (forgetting to take his experimental hormones on picture day, never having luck with girls in college, etc). Just a thought.
Portia is downright villainous. Yikes. What a nasty woman. I wish Joe had just blown her off in the end and not went into the bedroom with her though.
And of course, Anthony Michael Prince. What a character. There is a little bit of Will Ferrell and Ben Stiller shining through this outrageous character, and I love it. He's in his own world, and being able to witness it is a real treat. I can see his character going on as a great one in the history of comedy.
The cameos were amazing. Tom Jones fighting?! Sweet! Paul Rudd on drugs? Too good to be true. Nicely thought out. Oh, and Burt Reynolds and Tom Selleck are always a nice addition.
So yes, your characters are great, and might I add, your dialogue reads like a charm. Funny, witty, and to the point. You don't waste any time at all. Awesome pace. It really keeps the interest level high.
There are some minor spelling/editing issues here and there, but nothing so bad that it's hard to tell what's going on. Sometimes Prince is spelled Price, and that made me question what his name really was! Other than that, a slight scan over would do the job.
In summary, WELL DONE. Very funny and enjoyable.
