This is a very well done storyboard test movie. I actually watched the whole thing, whereas if this were merely a script, I probably wouldn't even have been interested enough to read it. So I guess these test movies actually are good for something.

The acting is good, as is the dialogue. It was easy to identify/sympathize with the main character. But all the characters seemed a bit bland, with nothing to really make them stand out.

The story seemed a tad too predictable, too similar to a lot of other movies that have already been done. Guy lies to get girl, she eventually finds out and runs, but he gets her in the end. It's been done too many times, and there just wasn't anything extraordinary enough to make this a unique take on the "genre."

Also, it seemed a little out of place that a secretary/assistant, six months later, is suddenly opening up his own practice as a doctor. Was he going to medical school all during the movie, and we just weren’t shown his student status? Or did I just miss the hint? And if he already had the doctorate, why was he working as a secretary/assistant? I know medical doctors work as interns, or have lower status and such, but I don't think someone with an advanced degree would "stoop" to being a secretary. Maybe he felt that his brief stints pretending to be a doctor actually gave him the necessary experience, so he opened up his own practice and is lying once again about being a doctor? The whole doctor thing at the end seemed really out of place to me.

I liked the ending, though, where the old guy turns out to be Presto. That was a good twist.

Overall, it's a very impressive test movie effort. I think that a movie executive would be more easily convinced to watch this movie than to read it as a script. And anything that makes it easier to get noticed is a good thing.

Hope I wasn't too rough with this review. I really do appreciate the time and effort it takes to write a screenplay, and the additional effort of making the test movie. So kudos to everyone involved.

LATER NOTE: Gary pointed out to me that Peter's doctorate WAS mentioned early on in the movie, and that jogged my memory of it. Sorry, Gary! I must have spaced out when the doctorate was mentioned.
