I loved April's voice in this script, she narrates truthfully. The middle of April's story reminded me of "She's Gotta Have It", and I wanted more of those story elements. She dates, marries, divorces, marries again. I wanted to read more about the relationships (visually stronger) then the writing career elements (as writers we know the craft isn't visually gauging).
The ending. I wanted to see April as a saint, making a movie doesn't equal saintly to me. I'd suggest making the script about her slutty ways as an adult, tell the story in reverse to end when she was a saintly child, and have a reason for April's metamorphosis.
The script reads well, thanks to the short choppy scenes. I'm very squeamish so the medical scenes made me cringe, which is a nod to Paula's vivid writing.
