"A Wink of the Black Eye"

Creator: Mark Wagner
Age rating: Everyone
After the KKK rampage St. Louis in 1919, an ambitious, black girl rallies her people to protest for justice and respect.
Synopsis: CLAUDIA NIGRO mocks the racial protest of an Assemblyman and his Ku Klux Klan at the Showboat. As they lynch her Father, a blues singer, Claudia hides in shock. Claudia flirts with the Lead Singer of a musical, but the Assemblyman and his KKK slap tar and feathers all over him. Claudia leads a protest to City Hall. She flees when the Assemblyman and the KKK murder her Black Men. Claudia and the Black Survivors produce "African Voices", a musical about preventing murder. The Assemblyman shoots his submachine gun at Claudia, who flaunts seductively on stage. He loads more ammunition, fumbles, KILLS... himself. An Agent hustles Claudia to Broadway where she sings from her soul to demand justice and respect for the Roaring Twenties.
