Christmas has passed and now, for five friends, comes the time to ask the most scary and difficult question of all: what will they do on New Year's Eve? Life will mess all their ideas and purposes. (screenplay not finished yet)
Synopsis: We can say that is for half base on someone's life, mine.

- 26th December
Andrew, Rose, Jaden, Lisa, Frank and Barbara, three boys and three girls, between the twenty and thirty years old, are reunited to Andrew’s houde to play some Christmas’ games, as they usually do every year.
Andrew is the most Christmassy of them all, the one who begins to celebrate the 1st of December and ends the 1st of January. He’s baking some gingerbread cookies with his showy Christmas sweater and singing Christmas Carols.
Rose, Jaden, Lisa and Frank, in meantime, are starting to plan about New Year’s Eve, even tough Andrew and Barbara, his girlfriend, won’t be with them: they booked for three days in Paris. For this, his friends make fun of him, while playing and chatting about what they could do.
When the others leave, Andrew and Barbara remain alone, tidying Andrew’s house and then starting to kiss, but she stops him: she doesn’t love him anymore and don’t want to deceive him by going together in Paris for New Year’s Eve. Andrew, destroyed by the news, asks her to leave.
He stays up all night crying, eating peanut butter and singing in a tragicomic way “Feliz Navidad” in his room.

- 27th December
That’s how his friends find him the day after, after they tried to call him in vain. Andrew explains the situation and the guys try to cheer him up, promising him that they’ll do anything to make his New Year’s Eve unforgettable, Paris or not.
Andrew nods, sniffles and tries to find his Christmas spirit again. He’s gonna make the most awesome New Year’s Eve’s party ever. Even if he’s got only five days from now.

- 28th December
The fivesome start to buy decorations, festoon, plates, glasses, alchool and call everyone they know to invite them.
But nothing can always go as planned. The first to stand back is Jaden: he has been selected by an important company and has to sustain an interview abroad. If he leaves the 30th, he won’t be back before the 1st January.
Of course Andrew understands the situation and he says to his friends that it doesn’t matter because that’s his big chance, he can’t let it go.

- 29th December
While he and Rose starts to contact people by social networks and create the event of the party, it’s Lisa, head down, that has to stand back now. Her mother is coming back home after she spent almost a year working abroad and she can’t miss this days.
Andrew, a little downcast, doesn’t say anything and try to stay focused on the terrific party they’re preparing. Or at least he hopes so.

- 30th December
The straw that breaks the camel’s back is Frank standing back too. He found a last minute ticket for Lisbon, where his girlfriends lives and works, and he doesn’t want to give up on it.
Andrew feels like all of his friends are playing with him and starts insulting everyone, including Rose, the one who has always been with him. So, at the end, he fights with Frank and her too and invites them to go away, because he doesn’t need them to make the most faboulous party ever and to be happy.

- 31st December
It’s 8:30 p.m. and Andrew’s house is full of people he doesnt know, drinking, eating and having fun. He tries to join them, pretending to have fun, but in the end he ends up upstairs in his room, rolled in a blanket, watching a Christmas’ movie.
When the film is almost over and he has finished the fouth beer, around 10 p.m., he falls asleep, dreaming of his friends being there with him.
When he wakes up he undestands it was just a dream and starts talking to himself, attacking first his friends and then, gradually, himself for how the things have gone.

When the movie ends, Andrew goes downstairs. The house is a mess and everybody is dancing and doing whatever they want, so he goes in the garden. At 11:30 p.m. he receives a message: it’s his mother. Angry, he throws the cell phone away.
Then a voice stars singing “All I want for Christmas is you”. It’s Jaden. He took the first plane after the interview to be there with his best friend. Andrew’s happy to see him, and tries to downplay the emotions scolding him: that’s a Christmas song, and now it’s New Year’s Eve. Behind him appears Lisa, with a tablet in her hands, its image shows Frank and his girlfriend. The three of them starts singing (a little off-key) “What are you doing New Year’s Eve?”. This song is definetely more appropriate. Then also Rose joins. Andrew’s eyes light up and he reaches her. He apologies for his actions and words, especially with her. She replies kissing him.

- 1st December
The fireworks explode in the sky.
All of them hugging and looking up.

    Creative Notes:
The story came up to me while I was sitting my room listening to the homonym song, a couple days after Christmas and a few before New Year's Eve, and zero ideas for that day. Suddenly I began to imagine one of my worst fear: being all alone during the holidays, and so I trasposed this fear to the main character.
