A movie-loving homicide detective and his partner are on the hunt for a serial killer who copycats slasher films such as HALLOWEEN, FRIDAY THE 13TH, NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET and SCREAM to murder the famous female stars of those movies.
Synopsis: In the tradition of SCREAM, HORROR is a self aware horror-comedy. A love letter film to the great "slasher flicks" of the 70's, 80's and 90's. Throughout the film, there are winks and nods to famous slasher and horror films. HORROR tells the story of a copycat serial killer, using classic "slasher film" personas such as Michael Myers, Jason Voorhees, Freddy Krueger and Ghostface to murder the famous former female stars of those movies including Jamie Lee Curtis, Adrienne King, Heather Langenkamp and Neve Campbell. Hot on his trail, are two homicide detectives. One an avid movie fan who is able to pick up on the clues and obscure movie references the killer is working into his crimes. And the other one is just trying to make sense of the absurdity of the situation and find the killer. Aiding them, is the killer's former psychiatrist, who has intimate knowledge of the killer's mental state and past. Toying with them, is the killer's affluent, smug older brother. Is he aiding his younger brother in his killing spree? Will the detectives and psychiatrist stop the killer in time before he completes his string of "slasher film" copycat murders? HORROR has a built in audience of pre-sold franchises along with mass general audience appeal of seeing their favorite slasher movie stars united.
