Synopsis: The Horn and the Halo is about an angelic demon who somehow ended up with a halo wedged over one of his horns. His childlike behavior and animated thoughts compel you to see him as a lovable character, although he can be very devilish. As Lord D’evil begins to plot against THATH, the book transitions to earth, where Defense Forces (good guys and gals) are protecting the people of earth and the planet itself. The various characters in the military all play a vital role as a team to maintain balance of the forces as well as themselves. Each one is a very strong leader, including one of the new recruits. Although this is a fictional book, you might see yourself or someone you know in one or more of the characters.

The book starts off with creation, along with the beginning of good and evil. THATH initially was just a demon but somehow slipped through the gates of good. Because of his exposure, he ended up possessing both demonic and angelic powers, destined to fulfill a prophecy. Although young, he is a very animated character with style who is faced with the challenge of deciding whether to be demonic or angelic.

Because THATH is no longer 100 percent demon, as he begins to discover his new powers, he becomes defiant of Lord D’evil. Lord D’evil is Satan himself and the king of all things evil. Because THATH is being so defiant, Lord D’evil comes up with a scheme to kill THATH.

The book shifts to planet earth, where humanoids enjoy life in a more futuristic environment, while Defense Headquarters is tasked with protecting both the people of earth and the planet itself.

During a major fireworks display put on by Defense One, while everyone was admiring the display of the festivities, a UFO (THATH) was heading toward their location on earth. The impact of THATH’s collision ended the display abruptly, with everyone evacuating from the emergency and the defense team moving into action.

The book then transitions to Defense One and the various activities that happen in a military, from meeting new recruits, flying aircraft, testing weapons systems, and their personal lives and the challenges they face. Filled with love, honor, deceit, battle, etc., the book takes you on a unique journey as you identify with the characters.

It is written in a very melodic poetry format articulated in rhyme similar to that of Dr. Seuss, except the style goes from an urban Ebonics flair, biblical New and Old Testament, to scientific language and scholarly thought. The transitions of word styles and the creativity of the book’s journey gives it a flair of psychedelic funkadelic kaleidoscope.
