Synopsis: Heady times, fast talkers, and an inexperienced rich girl collide with deadly consequences in 1920s Florida. Abby Rutherford and her brother Henry have inherited the family fortune only to discover there isn't one. The aristocratic New York family is on fumes and they are left to fend for themselves. Abby talks Henry into giving her a chunk of their waning fortune for an investment. Florida is a wild place where wealth is created seemingly overnight in the stratospheric rise of the real estate market.

Upon leaving her comfortable mansion and sheltered life in upstate New York, Abby turns up in Palmboro, Florida, a rugged, lawless town fueled by greed, desperation, and blood lust. Abby immediately is taken in by the young son of an orange grove owner and the big, loud and brassy owner of a bed and breakfast inn- they're the nice ones. They are just a few of the assortment of people Abby falls in with and relies on to help her. Abby quickly falls prey to bootleggers, Fox and Viola, who are in need of a landing zone for their ill gotten hooch from the Bahamas. Panic grows and bullets fly as the whole cadre tries to avoid and outwit Chris Rowan, a young prohibition agent hell-bent to make a name for himself and uphold the law while he's at it.
