Mason and Phil, directionless townies and best friends since high school, each go on a date with Amy, a shy grad student. They promise it won’t destroy their friendship, but when she sleeps with one and falls in love with the other, promises get thrown out the window.
Synopsis: Boyfriend Material is a romantic comedy about friendship, relationships, and transitioning into adulthood, even if you're a Millennial. Set in a small East Coast beach town, Mason and Phil have been best friends since high school, where they were complete outsiders. Now that they are post-college and finding their way into adulthood, they are ready for payback, ready for real life to start, and ready to move into grown ups with grown up relationships. The only problem is, they're nowhere near grown up enough for any of that. Amy is a shy grad student studying photography and working at a coffee shop. She's never been on a real date before, which changes when she meets Mason and Phil, who each take her out on his idea of the perfect date. The two guys promise that this won't ruin their friendship, but when she sleeps with one and falls in love with the other, promises get thrown out the window.

    Creative Notes:
Boyfriend Material is one of many relationship-comedy screenplays I've written, along with Twenty Million People and Laura Gets a Cat, both feature films I directed and subsequently screened at many film festivals. Twenty Million People is a clever rom-com currently on Prime and Laura Gets a Cat will soon be available exclusively on Amazon. Boyfriend Material is probably the funniest one though.
