Dance for Deeds

Creator: Mark Grose
Age rating: Everyone
Explores why good deeds are indispensable and fulfilling. The show encourages and engages kids to dance when good deeds are done. Our mission is to explain to youth why good deeds and goofy dancing can bring joy to yourself and others. Also, 80s aerobic workout nostalgia.
Synopsis: At the beginning an 80’s style logo "Dance for Deeds" will fade up with upbeat music for about 7 seconds. The logo will then fade into a shot with two twin brothers Timmy and Jimmy. Timmy is an outgoing nerd who believes he knows everything about dancing; he is always willing and sometimes interrupting his brother to show off his dance moves. Timmy likes to go by the name of the Dancing Nerd. Jimmy on the other hand, always acts as the cool kid and has subtle ways of introducing good deeds. Jimmy is also the DJ and goes by DJ Do-A-Deed. Timmy and Jimmy discuss their opinions and actions on a particular good deeds (example: the Golden Rule). Jimmy usually guides the conversation and let’s Timmy dance after discussing the good deed. The good deed usually is something you can accomplish in your day to day routine. After Timmy and Jimmy discuss a good deed we fade into a 10 second countdown to get up and get ready to dance. After that we fade into a full body shot of Timmy in the middle of the screen showing the viewer how to turn a deed into a dance. For example if the deed was washing grandmas car, Timmy would turn those motions of washing a car into dance moves. Almost, like Mr. Miyagi turning daily chores into karate. Timmy will engage with the viewer and teach several dance moves. During the dancing DJ Do-A-Deed aka Jimmy will explain the dance move and add humorous commentary. This portion of the show will resemble that of a 80s aerobic workout video. When the dance finishes, the shot will fade back into the Dance for Deeds logo. That will conclude a Dance for Deeds show. The main theme of every Dance for Deeds episode is to show kids how easy it is to do a good deed or show good behavior; then celebrate good deeds and behavior with a dance. Dance for Deeds is styled like an 80s aerobic workout video.
