Travis: & the M.A.D. Trucker

Creator: Ross Wheatley
Age rating: 17 and older
Travis' battle inside reaches it's boiling point when his brother dies and he's forced to again confront his mentally ill mother. Whether exploit his super-natural gift, or die trying, Travis heads off a downtown crisis with a maniac on the loose to seek self redemption.
Synopsis: In this World, everyone is crazy in their own special way. Some more than others. Enter the real-life story of Travis Vance in the fictitious world of Ninja Travis. Embattled by a world of social disease, Travis' life is full of angst.
His walls come crashing down when he's informed his brother has passed away. He must once again confront his mother, the primary antagonist of his life and mental well-being, in order to mourn his loss. He can take it no longer.
Travis thrusts himself into the streets of Indianapolis with a mission. Or, maybe not... But, what he does have is a special gift like no other. And, a burning desire to make a difference in his life. It just so happens another "special" man takes to the city streets this untimely weekend. Allen (Or, the M.A.D. Trucker, as you'll come to prefer), a deranged escaped mental patient with a short novel in social and mental disorders to his credit.
What neither have is an intent for World domination. But, both will stir the pot this weekend. Have a seat. Strap on your seat belt. And, hang on. Because, we're going to hit some traffic before this thrill ride ends. Come along. I'll introduce you to everybody...

    Creative Notes:
Not that it was originally selected for that purpose, but mapping out this scene(s) gave me an opportunity to display the visual pace of my script. Very heavy in establishing shots. A calm visual pace. Takes the time to develop and pass off the idiosyncrasies of a mad man and his affects on those around him. Really try to put the viewer side by side with Allen (and others).

    Creative Notes:
As if Travis could back out now he's met with one last decision that he could never turn back from. Travis visits one last memory of his late brother, Clay. In comparison to other storyboards this sequence tackles more character development. The final rising action entering the climax of the story. You should really download the script and read what happens next!

Having way too much fun with this now. Without having the drawing ability myself this is still fairly limited. But, had a really good time putting together these two scenes. Enjoy.

This is my first storyboard ever, not just with Storyteller. No particular reason why I chose this scene or anything. Just wanted to test this out. See what happens, etc. The scene is pretty basic in nature. And, Storyteller still limited in angles/props, etc. But, all in all it was nice to get to finally visualize some of the images in my head.
