Terminally Bill

Creator: Douglas Cole
Age rating: 13 and older
A teenage clairvoyant is exploited by a pro-euthanasia group to collect insurance for the terminally ill.
Synopsis: No one can save you from yourself. Bill Hines knows this first hand. As the sole survivor of an airline disaster, he’s had the unenviable ability for predicting future crashes – a talent so unbelievable, it landed him in a mental hospital until he was released on his eighteenth birthday. His subsequent seduction by the alluring leader of a Kevorkian-style “right to die” organization, puts his resolve to the test. Should he exploit his talent to help those who can’t turn back the hands of time or will he be exploited himself? An NTSB agent forces the matter when an elaborate sting goes awry, leaving him face to face with Bill on a flight that’s doomed.

  • Script 1 - Douglas's Original Draft
    Creative Notes:
This is the original draft for Amazon Studios. It has been reviewed by several writers in the industry and has been refined in the process. I got the idea for this script when I had a layover at the Reno, NV airport and saw a self-service insurance kiosk. I always wondered why people would take out insurance on a flight when the risk of an accident is so low.
