I liked the movie. It was great. I can tell you put a lot of hard work and effort into it. I really like the "shots" you had and everything. It was great. If it was a movie I'd go and see it.

Here's my "constructive criticism":

1) I gave the dialouge 3 out of 5 stars mainly because I hate the GD word used. Without that I think you'd get more viewers and I'd personally have given it 5 out of 5.

2) I look at structure in movies and so when the guy and girl were on the plane and the girl was asking all the questions I thought at some point in the movie she'd tell him a little more about herself. But that's just me and honestly it's so small it doesnt even matter.

Like I said I loved it and can tell you put some effort into it which is always good. I might just have to check out your other work. Keep it up! One day I'll be seeing you on the big screen!

I am not qualified to judge the different aspects of the movie-making techniques. Therefore my comments and judgments should be taken as the ones of a movie lover. I watch test movies often on Amazon, and most of them turn out to be primitive “Freak Shows” where Freaks with special powers solve crimes or have supernatural powers.
Sky Pirates has no freaks, no zombies or werewolves, and it is far more entertaining than anything I have seen here so far.
I cannot recall watching any real or test movie which incorporated so many interesting scenes, beautifully woven together in a single movie, like I have seen in Sky Pirates.
• Flying Circus,
• Zeppelins and Blimps in action,
• Biplanes in dogfights (3D animation looks fantastic, the plane chase through the jungle. Never seen before),
• Biplane verses Zeppelin,
• Submarines and Torpedoes (The scene when the British submarine is dragging the blimp is so real and exciting),
• Jungle Adventures,
• Pygmies joining forces with Marines to fight Nazis,
• Treasure hunt,
• Relic hunt dip inside the jungle,
• Mystery of Ancient Civilization (Atlantis),
• War story,
• Touching story of “First Black Marine”,
• Nazi carrying on with their activities,
• Love story. English lady with Stiff Upper Lip, verses Lose American lover boy,
• Scrupulous detail of the Zeppelin (What details! Soldier speaks with thin voice for breading Hydrogen!),
• Pirates fighting with swords,
The characters are so well developed and presented that I had the impression that I was watching a real movie with great actors. The movements are so natural, so well balanced, so well-choreographed that I could even say I saw “Popeye” move when he punched Jack. I watched the scene 3 times to finally realize that I was tricked by skilled directing and editing. Congratulations to the editor, as it turns out neither “Popeye” nor Jack actually moved.
The Artwork is extremely well done. Everything is so clean, sharpe, and visible making it easy to watch.
Voice actors have done a fantastic job. It sounds to me that the German general must be ethnically German; that was not acting. Even Pygmy talking sound authentic.
I have no doubt Sky Pirates would be made into a real movie with sold-out signs throughout theatres! Throughout the movie, I picked up on several hints that sequels will follow! “East Wind ” and “West Wind” were skillfully planted within the script for exactly that purpose. I could hardly wait to see what secrets they were carrying.
I commend the director and his team for the superb work they have done in this test movie!
Congratulations!

I had plenty of free time lately and I watched most of the test movies from the first page. Some of them only partially, some until my eyes get tired bot Sky Pirates I watched twice. I wasn’t my intention to leave any reviews, but Sky Pirates changed my mind. I watched it twice because I wanted to study the expressions on the faces and body language of different characters.

Movies are visual entertainment and without good visuals, movie could not be good. Visuals in this movie are just fantastic. The drawings are so good that viewers could see the fillings of the characters in every scene. The characters are actually acting and that is just one of many things what makes big difference between the Sky Pirates and the rest of the movies I have seen.

The 3D artwork, animation and directing were so well done, only professionals could produce quality of that level. I enjoyed the movie and I judged it accordingly, but it is up to Amazon Studios to determine if the makers of Sky Pirates are professionals or amateurs.

Amateurs or professionals, there are so many different and extremely interesting scenes in Sky Pirates that I would definitely like to see it on the big screen (probably more then once).

Sky Pirates – Gary Dragan Milin

FULL DISCLOSURE -- There are many script versions and this is the fourth in a series of test movies but this is my first exposure to Sky Pirates.

First off – the voice talent reaches great heights, entertaining and bright – accents sound authentic. Dialogue creates character as well as moving the story. I could close my eyes and still enjoy the journey.

Story – a reluctant “Rocket Man” trades his ROCKET for an INCENDIARY ROUND in this African adventure.

Tone -- Adventurous, high flying fun/intrigue.

Theme – War -- Period piece – Love Story

Visual Storytelling – inventive, eye catching, enough detail to see this story’s future.

OBSERVATIONS/SUGGESTIONS
The story takes place in WW2 between 1940-42 but at times feels more like WW1 with the use of Zeppelins and biplanes. The effect can be captivating -- can also throw off the viewer’s sense of place/time. I found myself questioning when, in time, I was.
REMEDY -- The addition of specific pointed comments in dialogue about the age/out-datedness of equipment, could help to anchor US to the period.

LOVE STORY – First KISS – found this scene a bit thin – a little hard to swallow. The acting in a film could give a different feel and make this work better. Would play with this scene a bit.

HELIUM – Scene where helium shoots out of the Nazi Zeppelin – Voices change -- shouldn’t that be HYDROGEN – the EXPLOSIVE stuff? Is there a mixture of helium tanks and hydrogen tanks – if so this should be explained in some way.

The big Third Act Bombshell of “Splitting an Element” did not produce the impact it might have. If Kommandant Rheingold and Sara already know what’s being referred to, it can’t be that much a secrete, or that significant a pronouncement. Both sides already know and are working on the “PROBLEM”. If the characters are enthralled with the possibilities but do not understand the full implications -- At the same time -- the audience puts together the clues (realize the importance themselves). The impact could be magnified for the audience, making the entire premise much more convincing.
REMEDY – Scene were Sara reads the tablet on the Zeppelin – Kommandant Rheingold and Sara could be mystified by what Sara reads about “splitting an element” -- but the audience gets it. When Sara tells Jack they have to take the GOLD/TABLETS -- CUT after “We can’t leave without the gold” which takes out “the fate of the free world is at stake & it’s kind of hard to explain right now” and everything from Sara about destroying the gold. -- THEN -- Major Johnson and troops enter – Johnson lets slip about “The Bomb” by saying “The formula’s safe” making Sara put two-and-two-together -- suddenly willing to destroy the tablets. This change/addition would fix what I see as inconsistencies and strengthen the entire story.

Great job -- both as a story and a visual representation. I think your hard work has paid off, with just a few tweaks it could be even stronger. Congratulations for putting something new in the world.

The plot is quite impresive and well-paced. The voice-acting is well done, and at times I didn't even feel like I was watching a 'test' film, but an actual movie.

What I really wanted to write about is the art. Every panel looks stunning and truly adds to the story, plot, and overall feel of the film. The artist(s) should be commended for the work they've done, as nothing else even remotely compares to this film on the site.

Great job!
