Brenton is effing crazy. Let’s just get that out of the way. You’d have to be in order to come up with some of the scenes he does in The Velvet Elvis. In no way is that statement taking anything away from Mr. Lonkey. On the contrary, he is what the horror genre needs, a fresh voice.

From the opening scene I was hooked. This script is very well-paced, funny, original, and at the same time, bloody and adventurous. I loved the characters. They were well written, and easy to embrace. It may have been short on emotion, but this isn't the kind of story that needs to be loaded with emotion in order to be great.

My only complaint is that I think the characters of Blood and Nerve should have been introduced way earlier than they were. There could have been so much more done with them. Other than that, I would love to see this produced. And I could easily see this being part of a series of films with these characters. Brenton has created a good thing with this twisted universe.
