About

Although never having achieved huge success in either Music or Film (yet), I am exceeding glad I chose this path. I have had the honor and joy of working with many other kindred, creative souls on many projects, film TV and music. (some as big as Spiderman 2). I truly believe that Film, Music, and the arts do directly contribute to making our world a richer, and better place to live.

I could tell after the first few pages that Dave ( screenwriter) Gist is no newbie. The script had a great rhythm, pacing, and a very natural flow. The characters were well defined, interesting and didn't bleed over and into each other.

I am very well aware that the reality show "Storage Wars" is a runaway hit. People just can't wait to see the "reveal". The mystery, anticipation, and the possibility of a huge payoff are almost addictive. Storage Rats capitalizes incredibly well on all these points with a who-done-it bonus.

Just as the professional bidders in the script and in the reality TV show often do come out winners, I believe if this script was produced, the producers have a great chance of coming out on top, especially with the story being shot in only four locations. I think it's very wise that a screenwriter has a low-budget script in their arsenal, especially with a strong commercial thread. Overall, a very good read with great suspense elements.

I'm the original draft writer, Michael Germaine, and knew the script needed something, but I just couldn't get at it. Perhaps I am just a little too close to it. The script has been pitched to and read by many companies, but just couldn't pass the finish line. Donald, who is a senior editor by profession, hit it out of the ballpark. The script really moves at a nice even pace now and doesn't get bogged down. His polish/ edit/ slimming really takes the script to the next level and infuses the script with a new vitality and a stronger commercial appeal. Thank you Donald, you have some real talent.

Why are all the good ones PSYCHO? This has been my experience as well. And gentlemen, when your dream girl comes home bloody the first time, please pay attention. This is a serious
red flag. Not any women in the story to really cheer for. That Jennifer Miller was such a bitch I wanted to drag her sorry ass around behind a 1987 rusting Ford van. Definitely more of a guys story than one for the ladies.

I didn't understand why Dominic was a suspect. Perhaps a little history between him and Calvin, when perhaps things were not so peachy between, them would help. I also didn't understand the suicide attempt. My gut reaction to a friend of mine being murdered is rage not suicide. And above all, never throw away a perfectly good gun. You might need it later.

Dialog started out a little flat, but gained momentum as the story continued. Very good staging and descriptive writing. Hard to believe but very entertaining. Overall decent character development, excellent title, and good suspense build. I thought Celeste originally could even be an imaginative character, a reaction to Dominic's grief. I for one am glad she turned out to be a seriously deranged serial killer.

It was one of those stories, where you just have to know how it ends and hope the ending will be worth it. It was.
