I am not a big sports fan, so I wasn't sure if I'd get into this story. While baseball is a major theme with Rob being ejected from the game and having to work to get back in the Dodgers lineup, the real story here is the unlikely love that develops between Rob and Amy. It was great to watch them grow in their relationship, and it does seem lke their love is believable and realistic.

I am so glad that this script resisted the temptation of the formulatic romantic comedy plot. It's something fresh that I feel that I haven't seen before.

Another thing I liked - this script was FUNNY! It's wasn't obnoxiously funny, but it did have me laughing out loud. It's always good when a comedy can do that.

I like some of the changes that were made to this version. The thing I like the best is the changes that were made to Flavius. I didn't like him in the first version, but I really really despise him in this draft. He is a powerful man but he wants even more. He wants to be worshipped like a god. He is two-faced and he talks big, but deep down he's a coward. He expects other people to do his dirty work for him. He also think he's above the law. It's obvious he is far more barbaric than anyone that fights in the arena.

I like the new ending. It is a clever way to tie up loose ends and bring an ancient story to the modern world.

I am torn about the reason the wolf turns people into zombies being because it was African science gone wrong. I am glad this writer decided to answer the question, as this is not something that has been done in some pervious scripts including his own 2nd draft. It is an interesting concept and does answer a question and explain why a person might be turned into a zombie by an animal. It is true that African science and technology was advanced compared to other parts of the world and their science (including medical science) dates back to the BC times. The discoveries from Africa were introduced later to Greeks, etc. So from that standpoint, it makes sense that Africans would have had access to science not yet available in Rome.

However, there is quite a stereotype that says Africans were primative, and even stupid. It may be a hard sell to try to convince the masses that this science actually exists.

This story caught my attention from the very beginning. I was drawn into the action right away. I enjoyed the many action scenes, but my favorite part was the love story that was woven as part of this. I could identify with the female character and I found myself cheering for her and hoping she would end up getting her man in the end.

Also, I really liked how the author showed two sides of the man. On one hand, he was super brave and strong, but he did seem to have a weakness for this woman. I loved how Roman mythology played a part in their relationship and it's clear that it wasn't a meeting by chance, but something planned by the Roman gods.
