About

Thanks to being born dumb-lucky, the comical misadventures I've had are my best stories. Naturally, I write about misfit characters who dream big, and stumble into larger than life situations which require them to confront their deepest fear which is often taking a risk on believing in themselves.

I started in features as the Lead Graphic Designer for THE MIGHTY DUCKS, and the Academy Award-Winning, FARGO, THE BIG LEBOWSKI, and Tim Burton's unfinished SUPERMAN LIVES.

2016 - TUTTLESON'S HAUNTED TOY STORE, my Supernatural Family feature script became a Semi-Finalist in the ScreenCraft: Family-Friendly Screenplay Competition.

2015 - A GUITAR A DREAM & YOU, my half-hour Dramatic Comedy TV Pilot, became a Semi-Finalist in the ScreenCraft TV Pilot competition. (as, ZACH'S NEW GIG).

2015 - A GUITAR A DREAM & YOU, my half-hour Dramatic Comedy TV Pilot, also became a Quarter-Finalist in the Stage 32 TV-Writing Competition, (as SING IT).

2015 & 2014 - Top-Finalist in the ABC Talent Showcase with my Romantic Comedy short, SHUD-UP & KISS ME, (aka SPEED-DATE #3).

2012 - MATT'S & MAGGIE'S DO-OVER, my feature Dramatic Romantic Fantasy, was given an 8 out of 10 score by The BlackList's Professional Reader. (as WALTER CRISP'S ALMOST PERFECT MOMENT).

2011 - My Coming-of-Age Drama, RECKLESS WHEELS, (aka Evel Like Knievel), was an Amazon Studios December 2011, Best Screenplay Competition, Semi-Finalist.

2011 - Successfully completed my first paid Dramatic Writing Assignment for UK Indie Producer, Ahmed Maasarani, the Dramatic Thriller - MANIPULATION.

2010 - 2nd Place Winner in Writer/Director Jessica Bendinger's Adaptation Screenwriting Competition for her YA Romantic Drama Novel, THE SEVEN RAYS.

2008 - Action-Comedy, SEMI-DANGEROUS MEN, became a Second-Rounder Finalist in the Austin Film Festival Screenwriting Competition.

I'm a two time Austin Film Festival Screenwriting Competition, Second Rounder Finalist. 2006 & 2008.

2nd Place Winner in Writer/Director Jessica Bendinger's Adaptation Screenwriting Competition for her YA Romantic Drama Novel, THE SEVEN RAYS. 2010

Plus, I'm a two-time Top-Five Winner in the Screamfest LA, Screenwriting Competition. 2004 & 2005.

A remarkable accomplishment! Well done! I suspect if the script was better, the storyboard animation, and actors wouldn't have had to work so hard to sell the idea. Impressive though!

BOTTOM FEEDERS, is a heartbreaking, touching, and authentic tale of what it's like to grow up with nothing but the desire to be as good a person as the one who reached out to help you.

A terrific script. A fast read.

Anything by: Robert Riskin, Richard Curtis, Tina Fey, Buster Keaton, Joel & Ethan Coen, Joss Whedon, J.J. Abrams, Steven Spielberg, Tim Burton, Ridley Scott, Andy & Lana Wachowski, Peter Jackson, Lawrence Kasdan, Dan Aykroyd, Harold Ramis

Influences

Robert Riskin. Joel & Ethan Coen - Most fun I've ever had on a movie set. They know exactly what they want to capture, yet are open to surprises, especially humorous ones. Watching them build a movie is an amazing experience.
